Town of Summerville sports fancy new trash containers
... but the bigger story is the major recycling push.
The Town of Summerville changed vendors for trash collection as of the first of the year and you're now seeing these fancy new trash containers all over town. The new company is called Waste Pro and their slogan is "Recycling For Our Future".
And the Town of Summerville and this company really want you to recycle and to do so they are offering a rewards program which helps the community go green and rewards participating residents for their effort.
Here's how it works. An RFID chip is attached to your recycling bin coded with your address. The chip is scanned every time you recycle and active recyclers will receive money saving coupons from both local and national businesses.
