I've viewed a number of homes with buyers over the years that simply had too many paint colors and the result often was that the buyers were distracted from what might have been a very nice home. That's probably why most real estate agents tell their clients to neutralize the home before putting it on the market.
But for a buyer who can overlook decorating and see the home for what it could be as opposed to what it is, it might represent a very good buying opportunity because so many other buyers have likely passed on the house and maybe the sellers are getting anxious.
And by the way, paint is reasonably inexpensive and easy to do and is considered the best return on investment of all the home improvement projects you might consider doing if you are thinking of selling your home in Charleston.
