Charleston's top real estate companies

Some people who aren't familiar with the Charleston real estate market are often surprised that the large national franchises are not the top real estate companies in Charleston based on the number of transactions.
In fact the top two companies are locally owned including Carolina One (which used to be a Prudential franchise) and the firm where I hang my hat (OK, not my hat because I don't wear a hat but my real estate license), AgentOwned Real Estate.
National franchises are represented with Keller Williams, Coldwell Banker and Century 21 holding 3rd, 4th and 5th place, ReMax Pro in 7th, ReMax Advanced in 9th and Weichert in 10th. Another locally owned firm, Brand Name Real Estate sits in 6th place with the largest builder in the Charleston area, Centex Homes in the top 10 in 8th place.
