Do you want to see a home for sale in Charleston
Probably. That's why you are reading a Charleston real estate blog and more than likely, the primary reason that you visited this website was to search all Charleston homes for sale. And once in a while, you see a home that you want to see.
So what do you do next.
If you have a real estate agent, you should contact them to arrange a showing. But maybe you don't have an agent yet and that's OK, there are thousands of Charleston real estate agents who more than likely are anxious to help you.
So you either call, email or hit the contact me or set a showing button on the listing you want to see and hopefully, the agent that you selected responds in a timely manner to your request (I'm proud to say that I do).
But not so fast because surely you don't expect a good real estate agent to drop everything and meet a stranger at a house at a moments notice do you.
I want to get to know you briefly and find out whether we might be a good fit to work together. After all, buying a home is a major investment and you want to feel comfortable with the agent you select just like an agent wants to feel comfortable working with you. As an example, I want to make sure that your expectations are realistic, in other words, do you think homes for sale in Charleston can be bought for 50 cents on the dollar like you may have heard somewhere or do you want to base your offer on a price that can be successfully negotiated.
Most good agents also want to know if you are financially qualified to buy a home so they probably will ask you if you have a preapproval letter from a lender. Some sellers will not accept an offer without a preapproval letter and most sellers won't even consider an offer without one. It also demonstrates that you are a serious buyer.
So maybe you're thinking, that's a lot of stuff just to go through just see a home.
And you're right.
But since real estate agents only get paid when they actually help somebody buy or sell a home, most want to make sure that if they spend time and money with someone there is a reasonable probability that it will result in a sale.
Now maybe you don't care about all that and whether the agent makes any money or not or burns gas touring you around, you just want to see a home. But you should keep some of this in mind because you probably don't work for FREE at your job.
That key card pictured at the top of this post is magical. It opens doors but good real estate agents are more than just doormen.
