If today is the first day of Summer in Charleston

Charleston weather... then what was yesterday other than the last day of spring with a record high over 100 for the date.

Actually, Charleston tends to have two summers, the early summer which begins sometime in May and extends through July when it is blazing hot but dry. This year, we've had very little rain in the last month or so. The second half of summer can best be described as miserable when it is not only hot but really humid. It's the rainy season and of course the peak of the hurricane season.

A number of people that I've worked with over the years who planned to retire from the Northeast and Midwest did their due diligence checking out Charleston's weather, in some cases visiting during all 4 seasons of the year before deciding to relocate to Charleston. And as I've joked with several, there are two good reasons to not live in Charleston, August and September.

To your left is a screenshot of yesterday's heat but today we'll only be in the 90's.

The early part of summer is very nice but stay cool! Cool
