Wells Fargo Championship showcases South Carolina golfers

Charleston real estate golf course livingEven though the Wells Fargo Championship was held at the Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte North Carolina, golfers from South Carolina made it feel like a hometown event and what an exciting golf tournament it was with Lucas Glover beating Clemson teammate Jonathan Byrd in a playoff.

There are some great South Carolina golf professionals who have been playing well and winning big on the PGA tour. In addition to Lucas and Jonathan, Greenville's Bill Haas placed fourth at the Wells Fargo and his dad Jay placed fifth at this week's Champions event. Myrtle Beach's Dustin Johnson has been a big winner and Mount Pleasant's DJ Trahan has also recently won on the tour. (please forgive me if I forgot anyone)

But this really isn't a sport blog so let's get back to Charleston and Charleston real estate by suggesting that if you want to enjoy playing golf 365 days a year, you might want to consider living in Charleston. View homes for sale in residential golf course communities throughout the Charleston area.

And for local golf fans next year, the PGA Championship will be held at the famed Ocean Course at the Kiawah Island Resort right here in Charleston.

This is great and Charleston is a terrific place to visit, enjoy, and play of wathc golf.

I just wish Wells Fargo would spend a little more time dealing with our national foreclosure and short-sale problems, then have theri play-day on the golf course.

Hold a tournament - make 1000 golfers happy.

Clean up the mess they helped to create - make a NATION happy!

Bob, your point is probably why last year Wells named the tournament the Quail Hollow Championship rather than for the bank. They must feel a little more comfortable this year but I noticed that their ads were oriented toward giving back to the community.
