Under contract and sales pending real estate signs abound around Charleston
It seems that everywhere I look, there are lots and lots of under contract and sales pending riders on the homes for sale signs around Charleston. The other day, I was showing homes to clients who are considering relocating to Charleston and we picked out 6 homes to see. I made the appointments but believe it or not, 2 of the 6 went under contract between making the appointment and getting to view the homes.
We drove into one neighborhood just to drive past one of the homes we had wanted to see and there were 3 other homes that were under contract and only one available home for sale. That is simply amazing and doesn't jive with either the typically negative media reports or even the market statistics showing so much available inventory.
And, in this particular case, we were looking at mid priced homes selling for around $500,000 so apparently, the move up buyer is back and I wouldn't doubt if some of the activity at that price point is due to Boeing employee relocation to Charleston.
