Finding a Charleston real estate agent [Reviews, testimonials, referrals]
I got two emails yesterday. Well, actually I got a lot of emails which is typical but what I meant was two were especially interesting.
One was from a client who bought a home last year. Here's an excerpt:
“We are so very happy with our home. Thank you for being such a helpful and thoughtful and generous person. We think of you often when we admire our home and give thanks.”
Another was from a potential client. Here's an excerpt:
“My mortgage broker had a couple of agents call me. I only talked with one, but haven't heard anything more from him. I am a first time home buyer and want an agent that will not try to take advantage of this and find me the best deal and home I want.” (emphasis added)
Obviously, I'm especially grateful that my clients are thrilled with their home and they had a great experience using me as their agent. More interesting is the second which indicates that a lot of Charleston home buyers are skeptical that agents really want to help them instead of just picking up another commission check.
That's probably why there is an increase in websites that offer real estate agent (and other service provider) reviews. It's probably why so many people are now searching on Facebook instead of Google because I recently read that Facebook offers a "warm" search and Google offers a "cold' search, warm meaning that friends are recommending while cold means a more analytical approach.
A lot of agents are probably nervous that some people may write something less flattering about them and they could potentially lose clients. And there isn't much you can do if someone writes something negative other than to do the very best you can to help a client have a great transaction and be happy enough to write something nice.
You can read what many of my clients have said and I hope you'll consider choosing me to be your Charleston real estate agent.
And most importantly, your referrals are always greatly appreciated. Please don't hesitate to call me if I can ever be of help to a friend, neighbor, relative or co-worker.
