I'd like more photos of that home [please]
... is probably the most frustrating thing that Charleston real estate home buyers have to deal with when searching for homes for sale.
Some listing agents do a very good job of providing lots of pictures (and virtual tours) so that anyone searching for homes will have a very good idea whether that home would be a good choice to either view or eventually buy. Others don't and I've heard from many buyers that they won't even consider looking at a home unless there were lots of pictures. And with so many available homes to choose from, you really can't blame them.
But consider this, if a home is vacant, at best, photos are going to be of walls, windows and doors because without furnishings, there is no dimension or perspective to the picture. So if you are considering buying a foreclosure, the trade off for a really good deal is that you might have to visit a few more homes that might disappoint because you can't necessarily rule it out by the lack of photos available.
Yet having said that, when an agent enters a new listing into the Charleston MLS, it should be ready for viewing with as many marketable pictures as possible and a rich description. There is no reason with the technology available today that any buyer searching homes for sale in Charleston every day should have to see an image saying "photo not available at this time".
