Plan ahead [to see Charleston homes for sale]

Charleston real estateAbout a week ago, Teresa Boardman wrote about an out of town buyer who called and wanted to see homes that day. She couldn't because she was busy and went on to explain why it is important to plan ahead.

And it doesn't matter if you are from out of town or live here in Charleston, if you want to see a home or homes for sale, most good Charleston real estate agents need some advance notice.

I got a phone call yesterday from someone who wanted to see a home at 1:30. She called me as I was going into a meeting, I told her I would call her back in an hour or so and did. When we talked, I then told her that I was also busy that afternoon with another client and I suggested we arrange another time to meet.

But she just wanted a real estate agent to open the door so she could see the home at 1:30.

Well, I am a real estate agent and I have a smart card to open a lockbox but ... I'm not a doorman.  Wink

Plan ahead, here's two reasons why: Some real estate agents are busy with clients and some homes require an appointment to view. Of course, there will always be a real estate agent who is waiting for their phone to ring and will show you the home right then.

It's just my opinion but I think buyers should be searching for a real estate agent before searching for a home.

And by the way, not only is Teresa a great real estate agent and great real estate blogger but she is also a fantastic photographer. Check out her photos too.
