[Charleston homes for sale] It can't sell if it can't be seen

Charleston real estate homes for saleAlways a favorite subject, it continues to amaze me how difficult a few homes always are to see. Whether the seller doesn't bother to respond to a call from either Centralized Showing Service (CSS) which handles most of the showing appointments for homes listed for sale in the Charleston MLS or their real estate agent, the fact is that most (if not all) buyers won't buy a home if they can't see it first.

So why is a home listed for sale if you can't see it.

And then, there are some of the other inconveniences including narrow showing times. Or the seller or their agent has to let you into the home to see it instead of being able to use a lockbox for entry. And if they don't make themselves inconspicuous during the showing, the buyer is generally uncomfortable viewing the home and it generally isn't the one that they ultimately select to buy.

Or just recently, when we had an appointment to view a home and the father of the seller happened to be there and of course, he wasn't notified that the home was going to be seen and didn't even know that the home was for sale. And naturally, he distracted the everyone from seeing the home with questions and we couldn't wait to get out of there and go on to the next home.

So seller tip number one when listing your home for sale in Charleston, make it available to be seen or it won't sell. And tip number two, make it comfortable for the buyer when they view the home. The fact of the matter is simply this, there are lots of available homes for sale in the Charleston real estate market and if a buyer can't see one home, there are ten more that they can see.

And straighten up while you're at it Wink
