It did snow ... in Charleston
... and snowmageddon finally arrives in the South.
Waking up to 5 inches of fresh snow this morning, this is the first snow we've ever seen since we moved to Charleston in 2001 and apparently this is the first time it has snowed since 2000 (a little storm from what I've heard) and this is the first significant snowstorm in 20 years.
A southern snowstorm is a rare event and it's even rarer along the Carolina Coast. The Weather Channel said that there is now snow on the ground in 49 states; Hawaii apparently has been spared but in this crazy winter, who knows what's next.
The television coverage of the snowstorm on the news is funny, they were just interviewing someone who drove in the snow for the first time, and I guess that qualifies as news when it could snow but generally never does in the Charleston area. Most of the people who have relocated to Charleston over the years have long ago forgotten how to drive in the snow.
Enjoy.
Just beginning

The first flurries

And first thing in the morning, a whole lot of snow and look at the snow weighing down the shrubs (but it will all melt later today)
