It did snow ... in Charleston

... and snowmageddon finally arrives in the South.

Charleston snowmageddonWaking up to 5 inches of fresh snow this morning, this is the first snow we've ever seen since we moved to Charleston in 2001 and apparently this is the first time it has snowed since 2000 (a little storm from what I've heard) and this is the first significant snowstorm in 20 years.

A southern snowstorm is a rare event and it's even rarer along the Carolina Coast. The Weather Channel said that there is now snow on the ground in 49 states; Hawaii apparently has been spared but in this crazy winter, who knows what's next.

The television coverage of the snowstorm on the news is funny, they were just interviewing someone who drove in the snow for the first time, and I guess that qualifies as news when it could snow but generally never does in the Charleston area. Most of the people who have relocated to Charleston over the years have long ago forgotten how to drive in the snow.

Enjoy.

And first thing in the morning, a whole lot of snow and look at the snow weighing down the shrubs (but it will all melt later today)

# Real Estate

Good post. It’s amazing how many realtors post complete junk. Some people spend zero time and effort on even the basic stuff like photography. Thanks for this amazing real estate blog.

Thanks for the update Howard!

It snowed in Summerville too!  We loved it but are looking forward to selling homes in Summerville in better weather!

Bill, I don't even like showing homes in the rain (even though that is probably the best time for a buyer to look at a home - check the drainage on the lot and notice how light the home is on a dreary day).

Wow... great pictures of a not so fun time in Charleston.  I guess it is fun, when you only get it rarely.

Oh, it was fun and very pretty but the best part is that yes, it's rare and it melted quickly, that's the Charleston emergency snow removal plan.
