An [unusual] virtual Charleston real estate office

Charleston real estateThe days of all Charleston real estate agents having offices or cubbies at their real estate agencies is long gone. Sure, there are some agents who need the structure of an office environment and perhaps I'm lucky because for many years, I traveled so extensively in my previous job that I made an office out of a hotel room, airport club or when I was lucky enough to be home, in a secondary bedroom.

So even though The AgentOwned Realty Co. has offices throughout the Charleston area and even though once in a while I will meet a client at one of our offices, it seems that more often than not I'll use a conveniently located Starbucks as a meeting place. And in fact, one of my clients appreciated me introducing him to the Starbucks at East Bay and Calhoun with free parking downtown when we met there are wrote a contract and he probably uses it all the time now. (Oops, I probably shouldn't have given that away, now the parking lot will be filled and the line for a coffee even longer.)

But yesterday was by far the most unusual place I've ever met with a client.

With only a short lunch hour available to meet to write an offer, there really wasn't time to have lunch in a restaurant so I suggested meeting in the lobby of his workplace. But office buildings don't always provide all the amenities you might need in the lobby and there were only a couple of bench seats with no tables.

The solution was found in the men's restroom where there was a nice corian counter with no sink to get in the way and we were able to review the terms of the contract and initial, sign and date as needed.

I've heard the contract was verbally accepted by the seller and I should have a signed copy back this morning.

I wonder where they signed it. Wink
