Charleston real estate blog post number 1000
1000 is a big round number and who would have thought when I started writing the Charleston real estate blog almost 3 years ago that I would be celebrating the writing of my 1000th post.
So what should I write about?
Maybe I should write about writing a blog.
A few years ago, many people heard writing a blog was a good way to "get business" just like the "so called experts" are saying how important social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter are today. But while getting business is certainly important and I've been fortunate enough to have clients tell me that it was because of this blog that they chose to use me as their Realtor, I'm not sure that was the primary reason that I started writing this blog.
The word blog is derived from weblog or in other words, a web journal. So writing this blog has allowed me to share my thinking with whoever might be interested.
I'm amused at others who started a blog and perhaps posted about a few listings and maybe copied an article or two from other sources and called it their blog but ultimately just let it die. And as I write this today, I am just absolutely amazed yet humbled that I have written 1000 posts.
And while blogs may not be as important to some now that they can use Facebook and Twitter to interact with friends, fans and followers, I'm amused at those who think that they should tout their achievements or remind everyone every day that they are a real estate agent and ask who they can help even though it's probably not what you would do in real life when talking to your friends. I think a business relationship might start because you discovered shared interests with others and if and when they wanted real estate advice and help, they hopefully will think of you because they liked you.
So to wrap up this historic post up, a big thank you to my readers and I would be remiss if I didn't thank my friend Jay Thompson, The Phoenix Real Estate Guy who helped me get started in the first place.
