[Thinking green] Push reel mowers are more popular now
I've been noticing more people using push reel mowers lately. Some of my neighbors who used to mow their lawns with gas mowers apparently have traded them in on push reel mowers. I haven't used one since I was a little kid and finally old enough to mow my parent's lawn and I don't remember that as all that great an experience.
But today's push reel mowers are much easier to push than the old time ones and I don't have that large a lawn to cut.
Push reel mowers are environmentally friendly and actually do a better job of cutting your grass. Push reel mowers "cut grass like scissors, leaving a fine spray of clippings as mulch for your yard" according to L Hundley, Chief Gardening Evangelist at Clean Air Mowing.
