How to sell your Charleston home for sale

Charleston real estateIt's really very simple.

Step one. List it with an excellent real estate agent.

Step two. Price it to market and make sure the condition is excellent.

Step three. Let buyers view your home.

Don't forget step three.

I recently made a number of appointments for a client to view homes for sale in Charleston. 9 homes were selected. We viewed 8. What happened to house number 9.

Well, we couldn't get an appointment. It was declined by the seller.

And curious that I am, I took a look at the listing history and it has been on the market since May 08. That's 15 months. Now, it might be a nice home, it might even be well priced and in good condition. The listing agent might have put lots of pictures and a nice description in the Charleston MLS so that other Charleston real estate agents would want to show the home to their clients.

But if the seller won't allow potential buyers to view the home, the home is not for sale.
