Jonathan turns 40 and Jay says it's 117
... degrees, (that is) in Phoenix. Two of my favorite Phoenix real estate guys are having some fun in the summertime. Jonathan Dalton turned 40 today and the original PhoenixRealEstateGuy, Jay Thompson is moaning about 117 degree temperatures in Phoenix.

They are two of the friends I have in my computer and I've learned a great deal from each. From Jonathan, who I met online while discussing whether days on market really mattered, I've learned how important the absorption rate is in your real estate market. And Jay, who I met because we shared the same website provider, I've learned how important it is to treat people right (well, actually I didn't exactly learn that from Jay but I can tell you, no one I know practices treating people right more than Jay.)
Jonathan says he loves the beach but wouldn't live anywhere else but Phoenix, Jay says he loves Phoenix weather except for that little hot spell they have every summer. I lived in Phoenix for several years and it truly is one of the great places to live in the country. We spent last week at the beach and of course, I am a beach person and it's just one of the many reasons that I love living in Charleston.
And while it's supposed to be a little cooler near the ocean with some nice breezes, we spent last week in Hilton Head Island baking in the sun with our feet in the sand, temps in the high 90's with a heat index near 115. Thankfully, there wasn't very much humidity and one afternoon I noticed the Weather Channel indicated the humidity was only 30%. But it was hot!
So while I do like Phoenix, the best place to live is on the Carolina Coast in Charleston.
But happy birthday Jonathan, and here's wishing you many more happy and healthy birthdays in the years to come and Jay, quit gloating about the Phoenix weather already. And I'm very glad for both of you that the Phoenix real estate market has been quite busy this year.
