No, I'm not talking about home price declines and losing green [cash] if you buy a home. Building green with a focus on energy efficiency has been gaining traction and now, green mortgages are available locally in Charleston.
I just received an email from a local mortgage broker announcing the first green mortgage program in the nation launched in Charleston by Daniel Island Mortgage. They are the first local provider for myEnergyLoan, the nation's leading green mortgage program with a very informative website.
While I haven't yet met Gary Harwyn, President of Daniel Island Mortgage, this certainly sounds like an excellent idea for the many homeowners who are choosing to build or buy green homes.
