On the fence

Charleston real estateI'm sure many Charleston home buyers are sitting "on the fence" waiting to buy until the signs are clear that prices will not decline.

It's perfectly understandable.

There is only one problem. How do you know when to "pull the trigger".

While no one wants to buy when the market is still declining, the problem is that bells do not ring signaling the lowest price you can buy at whether you are talking about stocks, homes or clothing in a department store.

But when prices reach a level that you feel represents value, then it is probably time to buy. Could prices go down a little more after that point, well, of course, but they could also go up while you sit on the fence waiting.

That's why you buy for the long term, not the next week or month.
