Mr. and Mrs. Seller, would you like me to show your home
... or would you rather I take your dog for a walk.
Recently, I wrote about a home for sale where the listing indicated that the pets could easily be killed if the showing agent wasn't careful when showing the house. I commented that the sellers might think they have the only home for sale in Charleston. Click here to read, [warning] Showing this house may be harmful.
Now, once again from the silly showing instructions of the Charleston MLS comes this gem (my emphasis added).
Contact listing agent for how to handle small, very cute dog that barks. Seller states that dog must be let out in back before allowing client in, or put in garage if cold or raining. Contact agent at xxx
Just to clarify, I like dogs.
But if you want to sell your home in today's Charleston real estate market with thousands of available homes for sale, make it simple and easy for the real estate agent to bring his/her clients to see your home. Making it difficult is an invitation to show other homes rather than yours.
So, would you like me to show your home or take your dog for a walk.
