Plan ahead

Charleston real estateSometimes, you just have to wonder what people might have been thinking. In a neighborhood that I follow closely so I tend to remember street addresses, I just noticed two homes go on the market. There's nothing unusual about that considering the time of year except for this, I showed both of those homes to a client last spring and while my client didn't select either, I do know that both homes did sell.

So why are these two homeowners already putting their homes on the market in just over 6 months. Sure, the economy is lousy and people are losing jobs but before you buy a home, you should plan ahead for the unexpected.

Neither of the two homeowners is listing their home at a ridiculously high price and most likely, they are going to lose money on the transaction. Bottom line, sure it's nice to own a home rather than rent but you should plan ahead to insure that not only can you afford to buy but more importantly, that you'll be able to stay in your new home should your circumstances change.
