Charleston real estate market report, home prices, February 1, 2009

Despite the bleak news reported just about everywhere on the dismal state of the housing market, Charleston home prices have held up very well. The chart immediately below will show you the median sales prices in the Charleston real estate market from 2000 through 2008.

Statistics compiled by Howard Arnoff using the Charleston MLS as the source of data, information deemed reliable but not guaranteed.

Home prices in the Charleston real estate market declined slightly in 2008 from 2007. On a median basis, prices declined by 3.61% and on an average basis, they declined by 2.23% although it's important to note that price declines accelerated during the last few months of the year. The blue line represents 2007 and the red line represents 2008.
