The Super Bowl and Charleston real estate

 Arizona Cardinals Pittsburgh Steelers

Now, you might be wondering what the Super Bowl between the ultimate Cinderella Arizona Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers, one of the most popular teams in the NFL and my home (my wife is from Pittsburgh) has to do with Charleston real estate.

But for whatever reason, the Super Bowl generally marks the beginning of the spring selling season for Charleston real estate. We'll still have February to deal with whatever unpredictable weather might come our way, after all, during February we've had early spring blooms and we've had winter like days generally in the same year but the the house hunting season usually begins in earnest the day after the Super Bowl.

And while I did live in Phoenix for several years and currently root for our Carolina Panthers who Arizona decimated en route to the NFC title, I'll join with my wife and cheer on the Steelers while she waves her official Myron Cope terrible towel.

So to wrap this up with a little shameless self-promotion, should any Steelers fans be interested in buying Charleston real estate this spring, you know where to find me.

Yup, you can't be from Pittsburgh and not love the Steelers...We start them young here, our daughter's 18 months old and can already say "Touchdown!"

Our market in Pittsburgh usually picks up in March. A lot of people don't want to put their house on the market until then, and only the serious buyers are willing to go brave 10 degree temps and snow up past your ankles to find a house! If we win the Superbowl though it might help boost the local economy, which is always a good thing :)

Chelle, thanks for stopping by and go Steelers. Let's hope she says touchdown a lot.

We actually have a 12 month market due to our better weather but of course, it does slow during the holidays. Activity picks up immediately after the 1st of the year but it gets more serious in February.

I don't know what Northern real estate agents do for 4 to 6 months of the year, they must vacation in the South.
