Lots of potential and possibilities in Wagener Terrace home for sale
I don't write blog posts about listings like some other real estate bloggers. In my opinion, there are better places to market your listings and not bore your readers by touting a home for sale on your blog. I prefer to prattle on writing over 700 posts in a little over 2 years talking about other things that I think will be of more interest to you.
But I'm going to make an exception today and as you'll soon see, not for the obvious reason of selling this home.
When I first saw this home, my first thought was that it offered a buyer lots of potential and possibilities. While the home has been well maintained by the owners and is in move-in condition, my first thought was what I might do if I bought the home. So if you are the kind of person who likes to renovate and update a home (or if you happen to be in the market looking for a new home), you might want to consider this great home in Wagener Terrace I just listed for sale for $379,900.
OK, enough with the sales pitch.
Wagener Terrace is just minutes from Hampton Park, The Citadel, MUSC and shopping and dining in Historic Charleston. Many of the homes have been renovated, restored and updated and there has even been some new construction in this well established neighborhood. It's all about location, location, location.
This adorable 4 bedroom, 2 bath, 2000 square foot brick cottage was built in 1952. You'll find the living room and dining room to be large and three bedrooms and a full bath are also located on the first floor. The kitchen is the first area that I would update and even better, I would add on a little square footage with a mud room entry placing a washer and dryer in the new space as well.
But the upstairs could really be exciting. The entire second floor of the home is currently a bedroom, full bath, sitting area and offers lots of storage. The ceilings are not as tall and it could use more light.
But consider this. The bath could be transformed into a luxurious space by borrowing some square footage from a current closet. A new and even larger closet could be built in the current sitting area beyond the new master bath. And last, you could raise the roof a little to add volume and / or add a couple of dormers to bring in additional light and create even more space.
