Headin' South
Long term migration trends in the United States illustrate many people moving from the Northeast and Midwest to the South and West and of course the Charleston area has benefited from this trend with many people relocating to Charleston.
Anyone who watched part of the PGA Tournament yesterday would have no doubt as to why people are headin' South. Charleston has prettier days during winter than yesterday's summer day in Michigan. With high temperatures in the 60's and winds out of the North at 15 to 25 mph, sweaters and even coats were the attire of choice for players and fans.
I'll guarantee you this, when the PGA is played at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in 2012, it will be mostly sunny with Charleston area temperatures in the high 80's to low 90's and a chance of pop up thunderstorms in the afternoon. Don't bother to bring a sweater here.
And congrats to Padraig Harrington who must have felt quite at home in the cold rainy weather and won back to back majors.
