Tiger and Phil play golf

tiger and phil This feels like a heavyweight fight between Tiger and Phil at the U.S. Open being played this weekend in San Diego at Torrey Pines. Phil grew up in the San Diego area, Tiger a few miles up the road and both have had great success at Torrey which plays host to the Buick Invitational every January and will host the U.S. Open for the first time.

The U.S. Open will spice things up by pairing them (along with Adam Scott) in the first two days and NBC is hoping they'll be battling down the stretch during the first ever prime time coverage of the U.S. Open this weekend.

I'm a big fan of Phil and of course, I respect what Tiger has done in his career. I'll be watching and hoping Phil can finally win the US Open after coming agonizingly close and finishing 2nd a record tying 4 times.

Rick Reilly at ESPN has a great story, Tiger or Phil? Phil or Tiger? The Choice is Easy

But don't forget, there are 154 other golfers in the field and golf is a most unpredictable game.

That's a great ESPN piece Howard. I've always liked Phil. Tiger is amazing though

A couple of kids (literally) tore itup yesterday. Should be interesting to see how they hold up facing Open pressure.

Jay, I think everyone wants a big showdown on Sunday between Phil and Tiger, especially this year in San Diego.

Wait til you see the piece I've got ready for Father's Day.

And then there's poor Phil who can't hit the fairway. If you don't hit it straight, you can't win.
