Listing alerts

listing alerts can give you an excellent idea of Charleston South Carolina real estate market conditionsIt's been said that over 80% of all real estate buyers start their search on the Internet today. One of the best ways to learn about the Charleston real estate market for out of town buyers looking to relocate to Charleston is to receive listing alerts of all new properties that come on the market that meet their search criteria.

One of my clients first contacted me about information regarding potentially relocating or retiring to the Charleston area over Memorial Day weekend in 2006. I remember that my wife and I were out of town for the weekend but since I always bring my computer and check my email, I sent a quick response back and over the next few days established a dialogue to find out what they were looking for and suggested they review listing alerts to give them a sense of the Charleston housing market.

Fast forward, they eventually made 2 preliminary trips and just arrived last week for the 3rd time to buy. As they were leaving, they wanted to be sure I continued to send them listing alerts, but to modify the search criteria just a little bit to reflect the area of Charleston they eventually selected. They are not my only client who wanted to continue to receive listing alerts after they purchased a home and I think that some people are "addicted" to real estate search. Fortunately, real estate search is a much safer addiction than other things, it's both fun and entertaining and will help give you a sense of the Charleston real estate market.

By the way, the search results are most meaningful when you narrow your search criteria. Click here to request listing alerts to learn more about Charleston homes for sale that might be interesting to you.
