New housing choices in Historic Downtown Charleston

Historic downtown Charleston features luxury homes hundreds of years oldAfter spending a day or two downtown looking at potential properties for clients, I was getting some information together to write a post. But Saturday morning as my wife and I were having breakfast and reading the Post and Courier (the only day we read the newspaper), I found I was "scooped" as the newspaper featured an article on Midtown in the real estate section. The next best thing is to have a lot of pictures.

When you think of Historic Downtown Charleston, you think of the High Battery, the stately homes South of Broad, thousands of homes from the antebellum era and some of the finest luxury real estate in the country.

But there are many new housing choices in downtown, not inexpensive, but offering more affordable alternatives to buyers who are interested in living in the city.

New urban living in Midtown Charleston Historic looks with modern amenities

The area further up the Peninsula near the College of Charleston, MUSC and the Upper King Street design district is booming. There are many homes being renovated and lots of new construction being developed in the area with many new restaurants and stores opening to serve the new residents.

Renovations of older homes in downtown Charleston offer modern amenities with century's old charm.

New construction in downtown features open living spaces, lots of light and quality finishes and appointments.
