Pictures sell homes

selling your home in todays Charleston South Carolina real estate market requires good pictures that sell homesA real estate agent has to do more than put a for sale sign in the yard and enter the listing in the MLS to successfully sell your home in today's market. I receive inquiries from potential buyers asking for additional information about listings and many would like additional pictures of a home that interests them.

At the very minimum, a good picture of the front of the home is only a start and as many good photos of the interior is best. Good photography skills are a must for today's real estate agent. The photo to your left as seen on the Charleston MLS will not help sell this house. Thinking of selling? Make sure the agent you select takes good pictures of your home.

Please note if your property is currently listed with a real estate broker, this is not a solicitation for your listing.

Great point. Also, I think the next big thing is video and streaming video. Check to see if your real estate agent is already using video services. Buyers are always looking for more and if your agent offers these services, it may well give you an edge over the competition.

Chantal, nice to see you here as well as with your thoughtful comments on Reliberation. And you are so right about video, it takes pictures to the next level.

Before selling my last home (4 months ago) I purchased a special $600 wide angle lens and a tripod.  I proceeded to take over 200 shots of my house (inside and out) from various angles in different lighting conditions.  When my agent came to my houseto "take her pictures" I pulled up what I had taken and we choose the best of the bunch to put in MLS and on her website.  The house had more showing in 2 weeks then her other 6 listings combined. (approx 8 showing).

The home sold in two weeks.

Claude, I'm sure that pricing your home properly helped even more than the excellent pictures you took. No matter what market conditions exist, listings that are rich in content with lots of good pictures and a vivid description will sell better than those with neither.
