A house that isn't for sale is not for sale
From the dumb archives, here is a gem.
Wayne Wicker, chief investment officer for the Vantagepoint Funds thinks official statistics do not track homes that are taken off the market as sellers become discouraged.
"I think there is unofficial inventory out there", he said.
I'm sorry Mr. Wicker and I'm sure you are a very fine investment officer however, piling on at this point in time really serves no purpose other than to get yourself a little publicity. A house that isn't for sale, in other words, a house no longer listed for sale, is quite simply not for sale, unofficially or otherwise.
On the other hand, isn't every house always for sale ... for the right price.
