Charleston Holiday Happenings
With the Xmas season in full swing and temperatures hitting 80 degrees under glorious Carolina blue skies, it could be difficult to get into the holiday season in Charleston this year with our unseasonably beautiful weather.
The weather isn't that nice everywhere and clients of mine who are moving from California are en route to Charleston. He is driving their car and she is flying in to meet him. I just dropped the keys and paperwork from their closing (they used a power of attorney and wired the funds to the attorney) off at their new home in Mount Pleasant earlier today and then called and told them where they are hidden. I heard he is stuck in some kind of snow and ice in the Southern Rockies along Interstate 40 and not making great time but she is thrilled to hear our weather forecast and hopes it stays beautiful until he finally gets here. (They're originally from Ohio so they aren't strangers to cold and snow and ice.)
For the holidays, on Sunday, both the Town of Mount Pleasant and the Town of Summerville held their Xmas parades and as we have for several years, Sandlapper Real Estate Group built a float and marched the streets of Mount Pleasant to celebrate Xmas in the Lowcountry. For some silly reason, you can't throw candy from the floats but a great time was had by all.
This Friday evening, Sandlapper will be having our annual Xmas party at the Edisto Shelter at James Island County Park. Not only will it be a nice party including an oyster roast but all Sandlapper real estate agents are encouraged to bring a donation for Crisis Ministries. Just one of the many great things about Sandlapper is our commitment to giving back to the community.

To enjoy the holiday season even more, James Island County Park is home to the annual Holiday Festival of Lights, an amazing 3 mile drive around the park with millions of spectacular Xmas lights. We'll get there a little early and drive around a little while and make sure to enjoy it. No matter the weather (which should still be delightful), the holiday lights will make it feel like Xmas.
