There is no better time to plant trees and shrubs than in the fall and there is no better place to buy than Ward's Garden Center on Butternut Road in Summerville. We've been going there for years and have recommended Ward's to friends and clients for just as long. I don't know why I call the owner Mr. Ward (his first name is Dwayne - spelling?) but he is a knowledgeable fellow about both plants and other interesting subjects. Best of all, he has the finest plants with the biggest selection in the Charleston area.
While they have a 7 acre retail operation on Butternut Road just off Orangeburg Road near Pine Forest Country Club and a farm out in Givhans, the reason the plants are so good and the selection is so amazing is due to the wholesale side of their business.
