Government proposal floated for mortgage mess

The US Government is floating proposals to help stem the mortgage mess and keep large numbers of people from facing foreclosure.

Of course, the stock market has been a mess of late and most interesting to me is the fact that investors leveraged their investment into the trillions so instead of only losing a few hundred million or a billion or two, they are very much at risk for substantial sums of money. Can you say hedge funds and risk arbitrage.

At any rate, here is a lengthy but very interesting article courtesy of Marketwatch, written by Robert Schroeder. I encourage you to read the complete story.
