Popular communities in the Charleston South Carolina real estate market

What communities within the Charleston South Carolina real estate market are online visitors most interested in? From the statistics on my website for the first 15 days of July, here are the percentages of page views from the 2426 total pages viewed from the 9 featured neighborhoods.

  • 25.5%  Summerville
  • 18.8%  Mount Pleasant
  • 14.7%  Historic Charleston
  •  9.9%   West Ashley
  •  8.5%   James Island
  •  6.4%   North Charleston
  •  5.7%   Daniel Island
  •  5.4%   Charleston Beaches
  •  5.1%   Johns Island

I'll be adding Goose Creek to the neighborhood pages soon and I would expect it will be highly visited since there is so much growth in the Summerville - Goose Creek area. I think this little analysis indicates which areas within the Charleston South Carolina real estate market are most interesting to real estate consumers (in a very unscientific way of course).

Population certainly plays a role in the level of interest, after all, the Summerville area has over 100,000 residents while Johns Island numbers fewer than 15,000.

Jim, thanks for stopping by. The best answer that I can give you is that when the economy and housing markets turn around, Mount Pleasant and Daniel Island will both continue to be very desirable places to live so long term, the prognosis is good. Where prices will be in 3 years is anybody's guess.
