The Cigar Factory and other new developments on the Eastside in Charleston South Carolina
The Simpson Organization Inc., an Atlanta real estate company, recently purchased The Cigar Factory, a former cotton mill built in the 1880’s on the National Register of Historic Places and a prominent Charleston landmark, for $22 million and plans to renovate the office building into a mixed-use condominium complex.

Simpson’s plans for the property include 77 residential loft style condominium units featuring 15 foot ceilings and expansive windows, a swimming pool, wine cellar, fitness club and other amenities on the upper floors of the building and a mix of retail and office space on the first floor. Pricing will range from about $400,000 to $1.4 million with the first units ready in early 2009. Ask me about how to get on the waiting list and I’ll get you priority registration.
