From the beach to the housing market

We're just back from the beach after spending a long weekend doing not much more than sitting in the sunshine, listening to the sounds of the surf, watching the tide go in and out and soaking up some rays and now it's back to the business of Charleston South Carolina real estate.

Just before we hit the sand yesterday, I noticed CNBC reporting housing news was better than expected. Unit sales were indicated off a little and inventory was higher than expected and somehow, that was better than expected. What are they expecting if this was good news?

The Dow jumped over 100 and interest rates were down slightly. This morning, I check out the news online and noticed that the stock market finished the day slightly down, interest rates fell further and as I read the article regarding the good news on housing, I couldn't find anything good in the report. Please note that this article reflects May statistics so the news is a little old. As usual, a few days after the close of the month, I'll have the latest Charleston South Carolina real estate statistics for the month of June.

In the next few days, I'm showing homes to a very nice couple who are moving back to Charleston after working overseas the past few years. It should be a fun house hunt. In the meantime, here is the link to the housing market article I just read, from Marketwatch by Rex Nutting.

Hey Howard...You make vacationing sound so recharging. Note to self...next time on Vaca, relax.

Hope you're doing well.

Geno, when you go away, the best trips are all about relaxing, even if you take the cell phone and laptop, you can still put your feet in the sand and enjoy! Say hi to Mona and you should come down and relax for a few days on the Carolina Coast, by the way, Charleston would be a great side trip, we have some of the finest cuisine in the country.
