The Easter bunny and The Masters Green ... Parka?

It's a cool Easter Sunday morning and the Easter Bunny is likely decked out in a parka rather than a bonnet. As anyone who has been watching The Masters on television (or lucky enough to have a ticket and actually attend the tournament) knows, the weather is a bit on the cold side. I've had the fireplace on this morning to take the chill out of the air and I'm looking forward to watching the final round of The Masters this afternoon.

One of two must see golf tournaments for me along with the US Open traditionally played on Father's Day which gives me a day to think about my dad and how much he loved golf, I have loved The Masters since I was a child. To me, the beautiful course (and words can't describe just how beautiful it is) with the azaleas and dogwoods in bloom always heralded the beginning of spring. And while we have already had temperatures in the 80's in the Southeast and my air conditioning has already been running, a cold front came through and it feels more like Christmas morning than Easter.

Because of the cool and dry conditions and the speed of the greens, the course has played more difficult than ever before and it is really testing the best players in the world. Over par may in fact be the winning score. I'm going to root for Phil but I'll enjoy the tournament no matter whether Tiger wins again or Stuart Appleby, Retief Goosen or anyone else takes home the prize and gets to wear the green jacket at the end of the day.

Or will the winner be putting on The Masters Green Parka? Wink

No matter what you have planned for today, Happy Easter and have a wonderful day.
