Flowertown festival in Summerville means azaleas are at peak bloom

There is a very good reason the Flowertown Festival in Summerville is always held the first weekend in April (this year, starting today, Friday March 30 and continuing through Sunday April 1) and quite simply, the azaleas in the Charleston area are usually at peak bloom for the prettiest and best color around this date.

My garden is no exception and here is a little look at some of my azaleas. Enjoy.
